The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) has an opening for a Printed Circuit Board Designer II or III. Applicant should have a desire to work in the EDA software environment, assisting engineers in design and manufacture of leading-edge printed circuit board designs. Candidate must work well as a team member, work independently with minimal supervision, and possess good communications skills.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Work with Electrical and Mechanical engineers in the development of leading-edge technology printed circuit board designs for use in the development and fabrication of high reliability electronics hardware.
  • Work in all phases of hardware development from PCB design, board fabrication and assembly.
  • Become familiar with IPC and military grade PCB design and fabrication standards/requirements and assure that designs comply with said requirements

Minimum requirements:
  • Experience with PCB design EDA software and basic schematic entry
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of electronic components and their basic functions
  • Experience in electronic system technology, troubleshooting and ability to follow and understand a schematic
  • Must have a minimum of an Associate's degree plus 8 years of applicable electronics experience, or a Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of applicable electronics experience
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., or other U.S. person

Experience with Altium EDA software tools a plus. Experience in multi-layer board design, impedance-controlled routing, RF system layout, and thermal design considerations a plus. Candidate must be willing to travel and be able to obtain a DoD secret clearance in the future if needed.
